In January, the Municipality of Lomas de Zamora advanced with a package of sanitary works that combines renovations at Comprehensive Health Centers (CIS) and an expansion of the Oscar Alende Maternal and Child Hospital, a key reference for care in Ingeniero Budge. According to the Argentine News Agency, the plan includes interventions at six facilities, with work ranging from refurbishing offices and waiting rooms to renovating nursing and pharmacy departments, in a strategy aimed at relieving staff on duty and improving internal care circuits. One of the central points is the CIS in Llavallol, where a functional reorganization is planned with offices, a waiting room, nursing station, pharmacy, and a multi-purpose space. In parallel, improvements are being added to other centers, with priority in neighborhoods where demand often strains appointments and on-duty shifts. The largest structural impact work is concentrated at the Alende Maternal and Child Hospital: the expansion adds 215 m² to add infrastructure related to childbirth and obstetric care, with the aim of reorganizing critical areas and improving working conditions for health personnel. According to information from the district, the expansion would allow for a new childbirth sector and to reorganize rooms, which would also free up operating rooms that are historically occupied by obstetric emergencies, in addition to improving sterilization and internal circulation processes. In the local management, they emphasized that the bet is to sustain the health demand of the conurbation with a concrete investment: more square meters in critical areas and nearby renovations to prevent everything from ending up in the hospital.
